FAQs - booking India flights

  • I am visiting Goa, what is the best airport to use?

Dabolim Airport (GOI), situated within a naval base in western India, is the main airport in Goa. While there are some international flights that operate during the main tourist visiting times, the airport currently operates as a Domestic Terminal. It might be more practical to fly into Mumbai from Dubai and catch one of the many domestic onward flights to Goa.

  • Which airport is closest to Darjeeling?

If you are travelling to Darjeeling at the foothills to the Himalayas, the best airport to fly into is Bagdogra Airport (IXB). From Dubai it is possible to catch a flight to Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) in New Delhi and then hop onto a connecting domestic flight to Bagdogra.

  • How does KAYAK find such low prices on flights from Dubai to India?

KAYAK is a travel search engine. That means we look across the web to find the best prices we can find for our users. With over 2 billion flight queries processed yearly, we are able to display a variety of prices and options on flights from Dubai to India.

  • How does KAYAK's flight Price Forecast tool help me choose the right time to buy my flight ticket from Dubai to India?

KAYAK’s flight Price Forecast tool uses historical data to determine whether the price for a flight to India from Dubai is likely to change within 7 days, so travelers know whether to wait or book now.

  • What is the Hacker Fare option on flights from Dubai to India?

Hacker Fares allow you to combine one-way tickets in order to save you money over a traditional return ticket. You could then fly to India with an airline and back to Dubai with another airline.

  • What is KAYAK's "flexible dates" feature and why should I care when looking for a flight from Dubai to India?

Sometimes travel dates aren't set in stone. If your preferred travel dates have some wiggle room, flexible dates will show you all the options when flying to India from Dubai up to 3 days before/after your preferred dates. You can then pick the flights that suit you best.

Loved everything! This flight had premium economy and I didn't see an option to upgraded to premium economy OR buy premium economy tickets. How come?

Some Crew were distinguishably fake in their interactions with passengers.

We was missed the flight They doesn’t lest us fly next flight without payment They charge me 606 hundred dollars What is very unacceptable, our first fight ticket was almost 2000 dollars, again paid 700 it’s hurt … airlines need to do something please

Enough vegetarian food was not available on the flight for all vegetarian guests on the plane. Crew did not adequately handle this experience

Boarding was a mess, no one managing the queues. I got my meal as the pilot announced starting commencing descent and basic drink not available. No air bridge so takes forever to deplane the A380 onto buses.

We boarded via a mobile gate in Dubai. I don't care for the bus ride from the gate to the plane

The flight was nice and on time. The comfort can be slightly better in business class

The food options for children is limited The business class bed is not fully lie flat, and this is an uncomfortable sleep

Bad Cancel the flight Came back to work only 3 days after Horrible Won’t help with hotel while we stock Horrible Don’t fly with them

Worst trip ever from the beginning to the end I will never travel with that airline again. I made a big mistake by not going with my regular schedule flight with Qatar airline. Even underpriced cheat me of my 134 dollars I paid for special seats and they kept my money and didn't pay the airline for the seats for me.

Crew members forgot to serve sandwiches after serving the coffee. Worst was the handling of bag. One of wheel was Broken making it useless. Though a complaint was registered and assured of compensation voucher equal to part cost of the new bag.

The seats are horrible and pathetic. The flight was delayed by over an hour as they did not have the crew

Please don’t send survey questions on Indigo flights. 90% of booking, check in, Boarding work is done by the passenger. So those questions are irrelevant

Boarding is becoming a hassle with Indigo nowadays, particularly if you are placed towards the front. The overhead luggage trays are either packed with flight equipments or already loaded by other passengers. So, if you are on front rows, your luggage may eventually end up towards middle. Food quality is going down by day. The only good element of being on time is also shaky nowadays.

Worst checkin experience. Lot of delays. Checkin agents rude. Flight delayed. No regrets by the airline.

Level of service is definitely going down, cannot expect the same service as earlier

Crew was horrible. No greetings. Did not ask for any food. The crew seemed like they were forced on the flight against the wishes. Should be de-roastered.

Worst. Did not feel like it's an international flight.

Indigo attempts to make you pay for a seat during check in. I opted to not do this. The result - they allotted me and my minor son seats apart. In the interest of making maximum money, they seem to have lost common sense too. Similarly, even during the flight, the crew are busy trying to serve food to those who’ve already paid for it. By the time they’re done, it’s time to land and no one else is able to get anything. Sadly this seems to be what makes them profitable, customers just need to bear with it till a better airline comes along.

As usual invariably delayed Lots of time in getting chkd in baggage

Terrible. Air India canceled my flight out of Kathmandu because of airport constructions but did not tell me. They should not be selling night flights out of Kathmandu right now that they know they will not honor. The staff was terrible and not helpful with my rebooking or compensating me.

The flight got delayed and was not updated in time.

Good experience, comfortable seats. Entertainment did not work but vista wifi and entertainment worked great.

Flight leg to and from IAD/Delhi was good. The leg to and from Delhi/KTM was terrible.

I had a camera bag that exceeded the 10kg allowance for hand luggage. I am 67 years old and have been travelling will my cameras and lenses all over the world and have not paid once for the excess weight. Also, even if I wanted to check in the bag, I can’t due to lithium batteries and delicate equipment. Air India should review their policies. Or is it just a cash grab. I had to pay additional 7000 rupees.

Business class recliners and entertainment system was not working, it essentially became economy travel at the cost of business

Food a little spicy for me, but I’m not a vegan. I would fly Air India again.

Ok, where do I start, hmm! Good things first - the meals/food was tasty, the seats are comfortable and legroom in Economy was ample and foot rest with message roller is simply amazing, Wi-Fi Entertainment works well. Bad things - in-flight entertainment screens and remotes either had physical damage and or simply not working. This was the case for more than 1/2 the flight. Flight that was long haul - 12+hrs non-stop. If you want a cracker or a biscuit with your tea - forget it, they carry none. Feel like having a chilled beer - forget it as they will serve you room temperature always and every time. The crew seem young and inexperienced. Will I fly again, yes I would only because it gets me from Sydney to Delhi in 12.5 odd hours (fastest), otherwise I will never. It has been what a year or so since TATA took over but I have not seen any change, I really hope this changes.

The boarding was not in sequence. All were invited altogether. I was not secured the meal I had asked for.

Food not of any international or even Indian standard. We have many cuisine available but only paneer & sundry items. Improve & provide some good indian items. Entertainment website or channel out of order.

The flight didn't even take off and cancelled in a royal manner. Hopeless airlines.

The flight got multiple changes of timings and ultimately I had to cancel it.

I have been an NRI living abroad for the last 35 years, but I had one of my worst experiences recently at the Dharbhanga airport, especially with the ground staff. Their behavior was very rude; one of the staff members almost abused me and charged me extra for my laptop and cable that I was carrying from Dharbhanga to Delhi, where I had an international flight. Despite being careful with the weight limits, the ground staff treated me very poorly, making it one of the worst flying experiences of my life.

Staff could have been helpful when traveling with kids and seniors. Not at all professional staff, just some janitors who do not understand hospitality. The food was horrible; the tomatoes tasted foul. The flight was small and the legroom was not good.

Flight was changed without proper monitor display. Boarding process was confusing with no announcements.

Flight arrived on time even though boarding and takeoff were delayed. No infant seatbelt provided. Crew was a bit indifferent. Baggage was damaged and representatives refused to write up a damage report.

IGI T-1 terminal is under renovation. So, the boarding and check in process took extremely long, due to reduced number of kiosks. Further, the flight was delayed by 1 hour 15 mins. The same was not being properly informed to the passengers because of which a feeling of slight chaos was evident amongst the passengers. All this further increased the discomfort, which was already in the menu due to the ATR aircraft. Lastly, the Spicescreen website wasn't working properly due to pathetic interface and poor wifi connectivity, which otherwise could have been a pass-time during the flight. Such issues were not expected from Spicejet and need to be taken care and handled in a better manner in future.

The flight 3 time delay I was so nervous and full tired

Flight cancelled without notice at the 11th hour, refund not done now one week passed

Timing Should be Accurate to Fly Flight was Delay By 3 hrs

The crew was polite. The snacks were served cold and were tasteless.

Absolutely ignorant Air India personnel at the Air India counters in Cochin Airport.
