I completed my pre check in as it said “avoid the line” and just pick up your car. I already pre paid for the car and when I got there, I showed them my Apple Card via my cell phone as I do not have a “physical” card. They would not accept me not having a physical card even tho it was pre paid and my card was charged—— and I pre checked in! So I had to make a new reservation while I was at the counter, made me run late to my meeting and I had to pay 2 times for a car rental! I will never use them again.Reviewed 13 May 2024

I made a reservation to rent a car 2 days prior to arrival. I fly from Orlando to Houston, and take a 50 minute Uber ride to the Hertz location of my reservation. I am informed that they have no vehicles for me after already having paid for 72% of the rental. No other help was given while struggle to find another location with a vehicle. An employee had called me while I was on the plane and left a voicemail, so I was unaware of that there were no vehicles ahead of time. I was there an hour before I saw another vehicle show up and being cleaned. While no one spoke to me to offer any assistance, I asked someone if I could just use the vehicle that was being cleaned. They said they were in a good mood, so he would rent me the vehicle if I agreed to pay the upcharge (because I had reserved a compact car and this was a SUV). At that point, I should have had it for free. I was nearly stranded in south Houston, and overcharged because the original money I paid has not been refunded. The SUV also smelled like marijuana.
